The only way to stop it is to uninstall it and reinstall it every now and then. Come on! The point of this app is to be able to free up space on my iPad, not consume more! Ridiculous!

Google Drive - Grrrrrrr.........
One more thing since it's irritating me. I've found out that as you upload files to Google Drive through an iPad (don't know about other devices) the app stores copies of the files in the App (not full version, compressed ones) so my Google Drive app is currently consuming 3.8GB of space.
